The course is composed of four main components:
  • Typography
  • Corporate Identity & Image
  • Digital Publishing
  • Elements of Digital Photography
Students will have the opportunity to use the cultural and architectural patrimony of Florence of the past and represent as their inspiration to utilize and transform their experience and ideas into a unique work.Participants will have the opportunity to use the cultural and architectural patrimony of Florence of the past and present as their inspiration to utilize and transform their experience and ideas into a unique work.The final project is the development and completion of an E-book which brings together the various elements of the course.

The E-book will be a guide to Florence.Students are encouraged to be creative in the type of guide they want to create (in terms of content, subject matter, target group and messaging) and should not be bound by traditional models and norms.The course will be taught my several faculty members who will bring their academic and professional expertise into the classroom. The IED educational and professional training experience is based upon real world practice and contact with industry professionals (both creative and commercial) and companies.

Target group
Students must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application and have a sufficient level of English in order to attend lectures and successfully complete all projects in order to pass the course, participants should have a basic foundation in the four main components of the courses and should be motivated to work independently and under deadlines. Prerequisite - Graphic Design or the equivalent and experience with Adobe Creative Suite.



Course aim
The role of a graphic designer is a dynamic one as it combines multiple disciplines, talents and skills that offer an enormous array of creative professional capacities. Graphic design professionals have the capacity to work independently with individual and corporate clients or as part of the creative team. Professional roles include art director, illustrator, layout artist as well as brand, logo, packaging and web designer. The constant evolution of technology and new media provide strong growth and artistic potential for the future.The Advanced Graphic Design summer course takes a multi-disciplinary approach to incorporating theoretical and practical skills necessary for a solid foundation with the objective of the creation of a final project.
