Alternative investments have demonstrated strong performance and tremendous growth over the last twenty years; they have become part of the investment management mainstream. Alternative investments are expected to grow rapidly in the next few decades. There will be growth in hedge funds, but also private equity, investments in real estate, art and even fine wines.

However, alternative investments are considered to be volatile, high risk and more complex than traditional assets. Alternative Investment Summer School will help you to gain the skills and know-how enabling you to master this growing investment area.rnrnCourses focus on alternative investments:rn- hedge funds, private equity, leveraged buyouts, and non-traditional investments, such as investments in art and other collectibles.rnrnThe program also includes a range of co-curricular activities.

Target group
The Alternative Investments Summer School is open to all university level students. The course is especially suited for advanced level (juniors and seniors) undergraduate students, however masters level students can also apply.

Course aim
- Provide insight into latest research and the latest developments in the field of alternative investments,

- Increase your ability to analyze the potential of alternative investments and understand implications of various investment strategies,



- Learn from the Swiss and French alternative investment experts and Zurich-based hedge fund managers,rn- Learn in English in the financial heart of Switzerland,

- Combine learning with an exciting study-abroad experience experience Zurich/ Winterthur!

Credits
6.0 ECTS credits

At the end of the program, students will receive a transcript with 6 ECTS credits and a certificate of attendance from the ZHAW School of Management and Law.

Course fee
EUR 0: The program costs EUR 2,750 including all academic content and class-related field materials, trips, and activities. Accommodation is not included in the price. A number of accommodation options is available for the duration of the program (estimated price EUR 500). A 10% price reduction is available to students from bilateral partner institutions of the ZHAW SML.Extra-curricular activites are not included in the program fee.

The program is delivered by Department of International Business in cooperation with the Center for Alternative Investments & Risk Management at the ZHAW SML and the Universit Paris Dauphine in Paris, France.
