The course familiarizes students with the requirements of audio production for the internet and 'live' radio presentation. The emphasis will be on 'learning by doing' with practical exercises and assignments using professional equipment followed by feedback sessions in which the students and the lecturer will identify examples of good practice as well as points for improvement.
Students will be expected to work both individually and in teams. They will be working towards pre-established deadlines for which effective time management and communication will be essential.Part of the course will be conducted at the premises of RNTC in Hilversum using its professional radio/audio facilities and equipment.RNTC is the international training centre of Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch International Broadcaster.

Target group
(International) students with an interest in the use of the audio/radio medium to practise journalism online and/or on radio.
Course aim
Upon completing the course, the participants will be familiar with: the basics of speaking on microphone and writing for the ear generating, shaping and presenting a studio-based story for radio interviewing and to preparing and moderating live phone-ins and discussions the basics of how to record, edit, package and distribute audio via the internet
