This course centers on the probably most important and most thoroughly tested concept in modern finance, the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). This is done in a very practical way as we will focus on experimental studies on topics which are of interest for every investor.
Hence, the course covers issues such as: how is information incorporated into prices, the performance of professionals/insiders/private investors; the origins of bubble formation; the efficiency of real financial markets; the impact of financial transaction taxes on market efficiency and volatility, etc. Department of Economics and Business.
