This unique summer school is launched for Master students, PhDs and postdocs to learn more about business in the Life Sciences. PhD-students and postdocs are planning the next step in their career. In these times, when postdoc positions in research centres are limited and biotechnology companies are experiencing a rapid growth, more scientists are looking for interesting jobs in the business field.
Most young academics however are not yet very well informed about the basic principles of Life Science business, the different types of companies, and the various job opportunities.In this interactive 8 day course you will learn the basics and backgrounds of the biomedical industry and are introduced to several international companies in the region through organised site visits. Renowned guest speakers are giving lectures and will discuss business cases in individual contact with the participants.

The aim of this course is to provide sufficient knowledge about the international field of biomedical business.The course covers Product Development, Patents & Licenses, from start-up to IPO, Biopharma Business models, New market opportunities, Pharmacopolicy, Pharmacoeconomics, Business ethics, Entrepreneurship, career development and many site visits.
