This intensive one-week course covers various aspects of neuroimaging and genetics analyses. We will start with two parallel tracks that provide a brief introduction to both imaging and genetics. This makes the course interesting for people with either background. We will then move on to single genetic variant statistics for the different imaging modalities (structural imaging based on (sub)cortical volumetry and diffusion tensor imaging and brain activity and functional connectivity based on (resting state) fMRI). This will be followed by more advanced gene wide analyses, as well as genome wide approaches. Other important topics include the integration across levels of investigation and linking genetics to behaviour via the brain - the essence of Cognomics research. We will conclude with an outlook to multivariate genome-wide brain-wide analysis approaches.The lecture programme will be supplemented with hands on computer exercises and demonstrations. Evenings will be reserved for faculty lectures and for social activities.

Students with a background in neuroimaging or genetics including:basic knowledge of brain anatomy and neurophysiologybasic knowledge of MRIbasic knowledge of statistics (GLM, regression, correlation) basic knowledge of the organization of the genomeThe school is directed at national and international graduate students and junior postdocs (max. 40) who wish to develop their knowledge and skills on state art developments in the field of neuroimaging genetics. The faculty includes researchers involved in the largest imaging genetics consortium world‐wide - the ENIGMA Consortium - and the Dutch Cognomics Program. Topics include brain volume and structural connectivity analysis, resting state functional MRI, combined with genetic information on various levels, new mass-univariate and multivariate analysis methods, and mediation analysis methods.
