The Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law is an intensive four-week, English-taught course for international and German law students and graduates. The aim of this program is to ensure that students understand the forces shaping international business law today, so they are prepared to meet the increasing needs of companies and law firms in this field.
The program is open to law students from all over the world who have completed at least one year of study at a law school at the time the program begins.The following courses will be offered during the 2011 program: -Capital Market Securities / Regulations -Comparative Contract Law -Corporate Governance in Publicly Traded Corporations -International Commercial Arbitration -International Commercial Sales -International Mergers & Acquisitions -International Project Finance.

Target group
The Summer Program is open to law students and practitioners from all over the world. Students must have at least one year of previous law studies. Proficiency in English is required.
Course aim
The aim of this program is to impart knowledge and ensure that the students understand the forces shaping international business law. This helps students meet the increasing requirements of companies and law firms in this field.
Credits
14.0 ECTS creditsThe course-credit system is based on the ABA guidelines with one credit hour being equivalent to 700 minutes of classroom time. European students are able to earn ECTS points. Each course is worth one ABA credit or two ECTS points. Students may select as many courses as they want; however, they are required to take a minimum course load amounting to 3 ABA/ 6 ECTS credits. Regular attendance in all courses is required. At the end of the program, each participant obtains a formal certificate confirming the successful completion of the program and a transcript of grades.
Course fee
EUR 1800: There are two fees for application to the program: those who apply by January 31, 2011 will be charged a reduced tuition fee of 1,500 Euro. Those who apply by the April 30, 2011 deadline will be charged full tuition, 1,800 Euro. A maximum of 20 participants will be admitted to the Summer Program during the first selection process in January. The remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list and will be considered at the end of the second deadline. Applicants should bear in mind that total enrollment is limited to 40 participants. Applications received after April 30 will only be considered if spaces are still available.
