In today's globalized world, international business and the laws regulating it are no longer distinct disciplines. Whether you are just entering the working world or are still a student, the Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law prepares you to meet the increasing demands of companies and law firms in the areas of international banking, trade law, consumer transactions and more. The combination of Socratic-style lectures and interactive seminars taught by experienced professors and practitioners ensures that that your intellect remains engaged throughout the program. The variety of courses offered allows you to fine tune your schedule to best fit your personal interests and needs.Courses in the Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law are taught by distinguished Bucerius and guest professors. Course catalogue will be available in November 2013. In 2013, following courses were offered:- Capital Market Securities by Dr. Dorothea Bedkowski, Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), Frankfurt- Comparative Contract Law by Professor Stefan Vogenauer, Oxford University, Brasenose College, UK- Corporate Governance in Publicly Traded Corporations by Dr. Carsten Jungmann, Duvinage Laywers, Munich, and Bucerius Law School- International Commercial Arbitration by Professor Dr. Stefan Kroll, Lawyer and Arbitrator, Cologne, and Bucerius Law School- International Commercial Sales by Professor Dr. Franco Ferrari, New York University Law School, USA, and University of Verona School of Law, Italy- International Mergers and Acquisitions by Dr. Florian Drinhausen and colleague, Linklaters, Frankfurt- International Product Distribution and Franchising Law by Professor William P. Johnson, Saint Louis University, USA Classes take place five days a week, usually between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. As the courses do not meet parallel, you can enroll in as many you wish.Small class sizes and individuals from across the globe guarantee an interactive, international experience and exchange of diverse ideas. Total program enrollment is limited to 45 participants.

Course aim
One summer is all it takes to boost your resume, expand your international network and deepen your knowledge in one of todays most pertinent law topics. Taught by top professors and experienced professionals, the Bucerius Summer Programs attract students and recent graduates from Germany and around the world to Hamburg for our demanding short-term law courses. In 2014, the Bucerius Summer Program in International Business Law will take place for the seventh consecutive year.



Credits
14.0 ECTS creditsThe course-credit system is based on the American Bar Association (ABA) guidelines, with one credit hour being equivalent to 700 minutes of classroom time. European students are able to earn ECTS points. Each course is worth one ABA credit, which is equivalent to two ECTS points.

Course fee
EUR 1800[Convert to USD]Students who apply to the Bucerius Summer Program by January 31, 2014 and are accepted in the first round of applications are eligible for a 15% discount off the normal tuition fee. In the first application round, a total of 20 students will be admitted to the BSP in International Business Law and a total of 10 students will be admitted to Program in IP Law.Unsuccessful early bird applications for both programs will be reconsidered in the second admissions round, i.e. in early May.Students who apply between early bird deadline and the final deadline, April 30, 2014 will be charged the full tuition fee (i.e. with the exception of alumni, who will receive the 15% discount regardless of when they apply to the program). The early bird discount may not be combined with any other discounts (e.g. the alumni discount or a nomination).
