This course's main theme is the Chemical Safety Assessment as required under REACH. The backbone of the course is the regulatory background of REACH and the risk assessment chain from emission and distribution of chemicals to exposure of man and ecosystems and finally, in the risk characterization, to effects.
Exposure Scenarios and risk management measures are specifically considered as well as the collection, evaluation and selection of exposure and effects data, including alternative data and integrated testing strategies.

Target group
This course is intended for postgraduates and professionals within industry, governments, universities and consultants, who want to advance their knowledge on REACH and the Chemical Safety Assessment of industrial chemicals.The course is at intermediate level: it does require a good knowledge of the basic sciences (chemistry, biology, physics) and (eco)toxicology, but a superficial knowledge on risk assessment will be sufficient.

To provide a 4 day international course in chemical safety assessment, in line with EU guidance.
