Students interested in Current Practices in Renewable Energy: A Practical Introduction will be able to be immersed in the French culture. It will be composed of:

- Current Practices in Renewable Energy: A Practical Introduction 40 contact hours

- 6 ECTS credits- Project management 48 contact hours

- 4 ECTS credits Or

- Sustainable Development 48 contact hours - 4 ECTS credits

Target group
The European Summer Program of Lille catholic University is a multidisciplinary program designed for students who are looking for a comprehensive educational experience abroad. Our students come from all over the world. This variety makes the program even richer for participants when they are able to mix with their international students sharing a similar experience in France. Students should have completed secondary education in their home country and have a good knowledge of English.

Course aim
Content: Review both the scientific background and technological potential of renewable energy. Describe/illustrate basic scientific/technological concepts of the main renewable energy generation techniques such as solar, biomass, hydro and wind. Main sources of energy and their primary applications in the world. Challenges and problems associated with the use of various energy sources, including fossil fuels, with regard to future supply and the environment. The social, economical, environmental, theoretical and technological background of renewable energy generation. Integration of renewable energy sources into a domestic environment using intelligent control. Successfully propose a technically/economically sound methodology to generate renewable energy for underdeveloped countries. Visit renewable energy generation sites in France. Work on a project as part of a team.

Course fee
EUR 2490: including tuition fees, administration fees, accommodation, breakfast and lunch on weekdays, free access to public transportation in Lille, access to university facilities, fieldtrips, 5 group dinners, an orientation program, cultural and social activities.
