Many activities in industry and society may result in unwanted and harmful effects on human beings and/or the environment. Dealing with risk is an important issue that, basically, affects nearly all working conditions, where technical and scientific knowledge is applied.
A risk perspective that shows how different scientific disciplines can interact and contribute to assess and manage risk will, therefore, boost the capacity for many students to meet the demands in a professional position. This course offers an opportunity for the student to apply knowledge and learn how to deal with risk problems in the area of environmental and human health safety. Course aim
After the course you should be able to:- Extended abstract judgment of critical phases of risk assessment- Extended abstract applications of natural scientific knowledge in risk assessment- Knowing relationships to apply social science to explain difference in risk perceptions among the public and customers to risk management- Knowing relationships to integrate different theories of risk assessment in the form of strategies, methods and tools- Knowing relationships (to explain strengths-weaknesses for alternative theoretical approaches in relation to the usefulness in risk management.
