Dutch is a Germanic language that is spoken by approximately 23 million people world-wide. Most of these live in the Netherlands and in Belgium, but Dutch is also spoken in Surinam and on the Dutch Antilles. This upper-intermediate course in Dutch offers you the opportunity to learn the Dutch language fast and well. It focuses especially on an active command of the language (speaking and writing).

Course activities include:

- discussions

- oral and written summaries

- listening

- reading and grammar exercises

- letter writing.

This course is ideal for language learners who have passed the NT2 State Exam, yet would like to express themselves more fluently. It can still be quite tricky to find the right words and the correct tone in writing or in a conversation. This course will expand your language skills and increase your saying power. The newly acquired skills can be applied straightaway at work or in your private life.

Target group
People who have reached B2 level (CEF). You are required to do a placement test developed by Babel. This test consists of two parts: multiple choice and writing. A teacher will assess your language skills. On the basis of your test result you will get an advice about which course is suitable for you. Please note that it can take up to 5 working days until your language level is assessed. You can download the placement test here. Please indicate in which Summer School course you plan to take part.

Course aim
At the end of this course, participants will feel more confident in Dutch. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, seemingly without any strain. (B2+ level, CEFR)
