This course offers you the opportunity to explore Europe, a continent of great diversity. In the first two weeks you will explore European Culture. After that you will be introduced to key issues in European civilization from the emergence of European nationalism to the present.

In the last two weeks the course will examine how Holocaust and other genocides affected European society. Students will discuss these topics in small seminar groups and analyse a number of key issues in small assignments. Students in the field of humanities, politics, philosophy and social sciences with an interest in European Studies.

Course aim
The aim of this course is to introduce the participants to the social and cultural aspects of the nations within the European Community, European history and the current topics in European society.
