This program focuses on the basic skills and methodologies employed in styling, photographing and promoting successful fashion shootings. Students will divide their time between traditional classroom lecture with their instructors as well as studio hours where they will take pictures as well as site visits to Italian fashion retailers and museums.

Students are expected to work outside of class in small groups and individually for both regular assignments as well as the final project. They will learn how to photograph fashion in different situations (editorials, catalogues, catwalks, etc) and stage a class exhibit as their final project. This course affords students the possibility to take advantage of Florence as a historical city of design and fashion that has reinvented itself over the centuries and that in an age of globalization has a relevant role in the world of haute couture/fashion.

The program is meant for students of the Fashion, Styling, Communication, Photography or Design fields. Professionals of similar fields looking to improve their portfolios or gain a new focus or perspective are also eligible to take part in the program.



Course aim
The Fashion Media program focuses on the professional methods of photographing different types of events for the fashion industry as well as workingwith Video-making skills. The course deals with styling methods and successful and innovative new media usage in photography and photographic post-production. Participants will photograph and video their own ensembles and use their pictures to promote their styles and abilities, applying the knowle dge acquired or enhanced during the course
