Immerse yourself in British fashion with this dynamic course designed to deliver the key concepts of 21st century fashion to aspiring fashion designers, buyers, merchandisers and those with a general interest in the fashion industry. Through a mixture of research and inspirational exercises, practical fashion workshops and study visits, you'll be encouraged to question existing practices, to seek innovative design solutions and to establish your personal 'fashion philosophy'. You will examine global and cultural trends and learn how trends have developed throughout history. You will also consider social and ethical issues affecting the fashion industry to develop your creative thinking and critical awareness.•Megatrends•The Fashion gurus•Defining a trend•Internet trending•Crowdsourcing•SubculturesOur expert tutors will lead you through a guided tour of British fashion timelines and colour palettes. You will study historical and vintage inspiration, street style and catwalk analysis to create your own Fashion 'fact file' to develop your own design identity and fashion processes.A series of workshops will help you with your Fashion fact file including: - Fashion Research - Fashion Illustration - Shape Collage - Fabric Experimentation- dying and laser cutting - Fashion photo shootFashion Educational Visits Your course will be supported by visits to important Fashion exhibitions and collections for analysis and inspiration as well as talks by leading industry experts to help you immerse yourself in British Fashion.

Target group
AUB Summer Courses are open to all those aged 17 or over at the time of taking the course. Our summer courses are attended by school leavers, university students and creative professionals wishing to up-skill or change careers.No previous experience is required apart an interest in fashion and an enthusiasm to learn.

GBP 1500[Convert to USD]Please note our tuition fee includes all materials used within the course, teaching costs, plus transport and admission fees for any day trips or study excursions that take place as part of your course.GBP 120[Convert to USD]Accommodation is available to Summer students at 120.00 per week.These are 2 Halls of Residence on our University campus, just a 2 minute walk from our teaching areas. There are single study bedrooms with private en-suite shower rooms and toilets. Each floor has several large communal kitchens equipped with all appliances and equipment for you to use. There are laundry facilities within each building, payphones, lockable storage lockers and secure swipe key systems to enter the building. Our campus is patrolled 24 hours a day by our on-site security team.
