Basic knowledge about the human foot will be provided as well as information about footwear design, traditional and modern footwear materials, their identification and use. Various methods of analyzing human walking and movement will be presented to the students in our biomechanics laboratory. Special attention will be paid to the issues related to footwear sizing and the possibilities of testing real footwear sizes.
The complexity of measuring and assessing footwear comfort, footwear microclimate and the insulation properties of footwear will also be dealt with. The lectures will then cover requirements relating to the properties of footwear materials and the methods of their testing. On the basis of the knowledge gained, basic requireme.
