Introduces the development of Italian graphic design utilizing lectures, case studies and site visits to design studios, exhibitions and workshops with industry professionals. Topics include basics of design, image management, layout and animation using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, which prepare students for a final project that conceptualizes a future " imaginary" Florence.

Target group
Introductory courses are intended for students at all levels of experience, including absolute beginners. No specific skills are required. Applicants should also show curiosity, passion and motivation.

Course aim
Semiotics, historical background of graphics and design, introduction to typography and page layout, color analysis and management, fundamentals of Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator including the use of layers, colors, text tools, pencil and brushes, picture placement and exporting to diverse media, introduction to developing and maintaining a professional portfolio.
