The Summer summer School school offers a platform to students and teachers from international universities to engage in the interdisciplinary analysis of new conceptual approaches for a redefinition of the Americas in times of worldwide globalization.
Thematic seminars in the respective fields allow students to strengthen their understanding of complex issues in their study areas. The discursive and symbolic constructions of the Americas are investigated from the vantage points of politics, sustainability, history, law, literature, film, gender, culture and Jewish Studies.

Target group
The target group are highly motivated students from all faculties holding a bachelor’s degree, or students working on their final theseis. Moreover, the Graz University Summer School is also designed to be integrated into the curricula of four Joint Degree programs (English & American Studies, Jewish Studies, Sustainable Development, and Gender Studies) on master level.

Credits
6.0 ECTS credits
6 ECTS will be awarded to students for participation in the summer school and the successful completion of a seminar paper.

The total costs for the summer school per student are € 1.300 This amount includes room & board (double or triple rooms, 3 meals per day), tuition as well as costs for excursions.
