How Europe Works: Institutions and Law in the EU

This business law program is a unique blend of business, law, politics, language and culture, offering students the chance to undertake a demanding, in-depth study of the European Union. Students will spend three weeks on:
  • European Governance
  • Corporate employment law
  • Corporate law
  • European human rights
Field trips to (political) institutions once a week enable students to combine theory and practice. The program is complemented by a module of German language for beginners.

Target group
Advanced undergraduate students of law, business and public administration, international relations and related fields (after two years of study) or gradguates with good standing

Course aim
Students will understand the history and status quo of the process of European integration, and will become familiar with the responsibilities of key EU institutions. The will learn key aspects of European employment law and European human rights. Students will understand important differences in employment law and workers' representation across EU member states. They will gain insights in approaches towards protection of interest of diff. corporate stakeholders in the EU, and develeop knowledge of corp. governance and EU harmonization efforts concerning coprorate law.

Course fee
EUR 1350: Tuition and application fees, accommodation with breakfast, health, accident and personal liability insurance, excursions to institutions, German language course, and most parts of the culture & leisure time program.
