The course focuses on the typology of information and knowledge, identification of information and knowledge needs, and the acquisition, discovery, storage, organization, sharing, use and application of information and knowledge in the organizational context within a digital environment. Students will obtain knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts related to IKM, and an understanding of the strategic value of information and knowledge as intangible assets of an organization.The Course contains the following topics:- Change management in the digital environment- Models for understanding and approaching change- Techniques, approaches, and frameworks supporting change models- Framework for information and knowledge management in an organization- Human resource management and its external contexts- Organizational information culture- Leadership and teamworkEach topic may also contain a list of references, and/or some suggested readings for those students who have very little experience with the IKM field or who would like to pursue a particular topic in more depth.

Target group
Both undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in information and knowledge management in digital environments are welcome to participate. While prior study of information and/or knowledge management is useful, it is not a firm prerequisite.
Course aim
The Information and Knowledge Management / IKM course focuses on the effective gathering, organisation, storage, creating, sharing, using and website dissemination of information and knowledge within organisations to enhance organizational performance in digital environments. Thus, the process and practice of IKM is a central focus of the course.
