Traditional curation and education takes place in closed physical and social spaces with clear differentiation between curator / patron and teacher / student. Cloud computing with touch-enabled portable devices changes all that.

The LATINA summer course (5 ECTS) is directed at students, teachers, librarians, curators, storytellers and others that are ready for an intense, hands-on 3 week update on emerging digital approaches to cultural dissemination, teaching and learning.

Target group
LATINA is a course for students, teachers and others, who want to develop their educational skills on the World Wide Web.

Course aim
Participants will: -use the blog-oriented Wordpress software as shared platform for teaching and learning. This includes creating their own blogs and using them for effective organization, presentation, storage and retrieval of teaching materials.-learn practical production techniques, including the use of visual tools and multimedia editing, for digital story-telling and educational triggers.-explore the potential of Wikipedia and of local wikis in teaching and learning.



Workshop activities will be divided between lectures, demonstrations and practical work with digital media. Lectures and demonstrations will be given by the course directors and by senior staff members of the Learning Centre. Through the Learning Centre, participants will have access to a wide range of digital tools and facilities for producing and presenting teaching materials.

Course fee
EUR 595: The fee for the Summer School is 6000 NOK. This includes accommodation, extracurricular activities, excursions and administrative costs.
