Globalization and technological change will push many companies in the coming decade to sell non-core activities while also accelerating the growth of the core business by acquiring other companies. As industries consolidate on a global scale, many of these deals will involve businesses in various countries on different continents.

This course will expose you to the best and worst business practices in M&A from around the world and from a wide range of industries. Recent findings from academic research are incorporated throughout the course. You will also learn the decision-support tools used by investment banks and other financial advisors.

Target group
The course is designed for students majoring in economics and business, as well as for students majoring in law or the sciences with basic knowledge of accounting, economics and finance.

Course aim
To learn how companies use M&A to strengthen their competitive position and to master the financial tools used in M&A transactions. This should help you prepare for interviewing at investment banks, financial advisory firms and law firms.
