Nanotechnology is an emerging domain of engineering and science, at the interface between Physics, Biology and Chemistry, leading to several innovations in the area of Material and Electronics engineering.The aim of this Summer School is to present some of the critical aspects of this area, taking advantage of the recognized expertize of Grenoble laboratories and industries in this field: NanoElectronics, and the challenge of processing ultimate integrated circuit, NanoPhysics, and the fascinating properties of matter at nanoscale (electron transport and forces), Study at Minatec Research Centre, one of the best places in Europe for Research and Education on Nanotechnologies, NanoBiosciences and the physics of living cell and molecule in interaction with solid state surface and devices, NanoMagnetism from growth of nanostructures to the applications in magnetic memories, reading heads, microwave devices.Labwork, In addition to the previously described topics, each student will discover the basics of silicon material processing, realizing by himself a first generation solar cell in clean room environment.

This Summer School is open for students in Physics and Applied Physics, Telecommunications, Material Science and Electrical (undergraduate & graduate).

Course aim
Nanotechnology is an emergent area of science and technology that is developing quickly.It studies and exploits the unique properties of matter at a scale of approximately 1-100 nanometers.This Summer School will constitute an excellent introduction to the diversity of this promising area for students with a bachelor level.
