In this summer course you work in multidisciplinary groups (f.e. medicine, nursing, physiotherapy and speech-language therapy). You will start from your own profession and your knowledge about diagnosis and treatment of the problems of patients after stroke. Then you learn how to prepare and participate in multidisciplinary discussions and interactions. You enlarge your knowledge about stroke and about other professions. For this we use the the ICF-system (International classification of functioning, disability and health, www.who.int) You will also learn how to give a presentation.

Target group
Students in the field of Cesar Therapy, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social work or Speech-Language Pathology. Students must have reached at least the second year of the study.
Course aim
One competency is central: the ability to prepare, conduct and evaluate multidisciplinary interaction (MDI). That should result in:- a multiprofessional assessment or treatment plan;- a coherent referrals policy within the care chain
