Social network analytics deals with extracting intelligence and value from information being exchanged over online social networks, such as Facebook, twitter and foursquare. We discuss concepts such as the wisdom of the crowds, herding, and opinion convergence in online social networks, focusing on how such phenomena impact businesses, the economy, personal relationships, and the society at large.

Social network analysis techniques are introduced and real-life case studies are presented to illustrate the opportunities and challenges that arise when investigating our online presence and connectivity. Course offered by Department of Economics.
