The course is divided into two terms, where students partly focus on Gynaecology and obstetrics (4 weeks), partly focus on Paediatrics (4 weeks). During Gynaecology and obstetrics all students will be exposed to the organisation and working environment of a clinical department in a Danish University Hospital.
The main subjects of the course are pregnancy and delivery care in both the normal and the pathological pregnancy, foetal medicine, early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological disorders. The students will be allocated to the labour ward, to the department of acute gynaecology, to the operating theatre, to the obstetric outpatient department and to the ultrasound clinic.
