In this summer course international speakers will lecture and discuss recent advances in neural plasticity in the adult brain. The topics will range from structural, to functional and behavioural plasticity, from the cellular level to the level of brain structures. More specifically, among others the following topics will be addressed: structural plasticity and pathfinding molecules, dendritic plasticity and neurogenesis, pharmacological approaches towards plasticity, models of plasticity, sensory plasticity and plasticity in clinical neuropathologies.
Period
07-08-2011 - 12-08-2011 (1 weeks)
Target group
The course aims at the level of advanced master/starting PhD student level. Students worldwide can apply and will be selected by the organizers based on the suitability of their background and excellence.
Course aim
Key feature of the summer course is that scientific interactions between students and faculty are stimulated. Besides lectures by internationally renowned specialists on neural plasticity, students will write assignments requiring extensive discussions between staff and students. To achieve this interaction, tutors participate for at least 3 days in the programme.
