This course explores Europe after the Second World War. Lecturers will discuss the history, politics, economics and cultural aspects of European countries in the second half of the twentieth century. The main focus of the course will be the European Union, transatlantic relations and the impact of American culture in Europe. Other topics to be discussed are decolonization, and the many global interconnections and dependencies of globalisation. You will experience an intensive two-week program with various lectures, seminar groups and full-day excursions.

The course has a focus on the humanities and in offering this as a broad framework it is a challenging course for students from all fields of studies with an interest in history.
