Over recent years DNA technology has causeda revolution in our understanding of molecular processes in living organisms. To date, there is no field in experimental biology that has remained untouched by the potential of isolating, analyzing and manipulating genes. Thus, DNA technology provides essential tools in both fundamental and applied biological,medical, industrial, agricultural, environmental research.A few examples of modern applications are in diagnosis of diseases, gene therapy, medicines(for example new antimicrobial drugs), use in forensic science, environmental and agricultural applications. This practical course involves a set of basic molecular biology techniques.

Course aim
After completing this course you will be able to use basic methods of DNA technology:- Amplification of DNA by PCR- Gene isolation and cloning- DNA isolation, restriction and analysis by gel electrophoresis- Nucleotide sequence analysis- DNA databases and DNA database searching.

3.0 ECTS creditsECTS is the standard European credit system, each ECTS credit is equivalent to 28 study hours. All courses are worth 3 ECTS. If you select two consecutive courses and study with us for four weeks, you will receive a 10% discount on the second course fee.Some courses will include excursions.
