The fascinating fields of psychology, human behaviour and financial issues converge in Risk Management & Security. This course invites you to get to grips with the relevant concepts and models, and to experience the power of communication in a crisis and as a risk management tool.Professional managers need a fundamental knowledge of financial management. The current economic crisis has highlighted the need for financial risk management, calling on managers in the public and private sector (from banks to local authorities) to fully grasp the key concepts of financial decision-making.Psychology helps us explain all kinds of phenomena in the safety domain. Effective risk communication relies on understanding the psychological mechanisms and processes that underlie people%E2%80%99s perception of risks. Psychology can also be instrumental in harnessing the potential of social media, in reinforcing civilian resilience in an emergency and in helping us understand how individuals with the intent to deceive can be distinguished from upstanding citizens.
