The Summer School The Universal Character of Saint Clement's Enlightenment and of Medieval Literature and Art in Macedonia will explore St. Clement's activity as an authentic example for cultural enlightenment through the production of the original medieval literature and art, generation and conservation of the translated literature, biblical and apostolic transmitted education, Christian poetics and aesthetics in Slavic culture, literature and art. The cultural paradigms of such process have been historically established in the Balkan cultures and European heritage.
The message of the medieval literature and art has achieved its significant comparative, trans-historical, inter-cultural and original contribution towards the world culture. Therefore, the universal dimension of medieval cultural model through Slavic culture, positions itself as an open museum for the Eastern and Western world, and for the Western culture nowadays as well.

Eligibility and fee:
Participant must be MA or PhD students interested in exploring the issues of comparative literature, cultural and Byzantine Studies (not older than 36 years of age)
Participant must be a national of one of the countries from Southeastern Europe in order for her/his accommodation costs to be fully covered by the Organizer. The total participation fee will be 100 euro. Participants from other countries are also eligible to participate, but ineligible for the financial support provided by the organizers. These applicants will have to cover participation fee of 100 euro and accommodation costs.
Number of participants: 20
Working language of the Summer School will be English.
