This course is as such a continuation of instruction in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing, within a cultural context. Course participants are taught to conduct longer, more complex conversations and discussions in Spanish. Written language use is given greater emphasis in this course, and students learn to write and to read more formalized texts. Exercises focus always on practical and realistic situations.This course requires approximately 2 hours of preparation a day.

Target group
Students preparing for an exchange program. The course is open to those who have done the Spanish Intensive Summer Course: Beginners or the semester course Spanish for Beginners.

Course aim
By the end of the course, participants are assumed (at level B1 of the Common European Framework) to be able to conduct longer and more complex conversations and discussions in Spanish in which they are able to clearly express and defend their opinions. You will learn to understand a native speaker of Spanish in conversation, even if the topic is outside of the participants direct realm of experience. It is also assumed that course participants will be able to comprehend more formal texts.
