The Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy (CGWA) at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) is presenting the sixth Gravitational Wave Astronomy Summer School in Gulf of Mexico, US.
Gravitational wave astronomy will reveal hidden dynamics in the universe. This emerging field arises from solutions to Einstein's equations of general relativity and has the potential to uncover new physics. The Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy (CGWA) at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) has successfully conducted a two-week summer school for the past five years in order to expose students to gravitational wave astronomy.
Some of the world's leading experts in this field will instruct a selected group of approximately 25 advanced undergraduate and graduate students during the summer school.

During the Summer of 2010, the Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy (CGWA) at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC), will sponsor its sixth two-week intensive program in gravitational wave astronomy (GWA). The purpose of the program is to provide senior undergraduate and junior graduate students with the necessary background to begin research in gravitational wave astronomy.
The school will provide an introduction to the theory of gravitational waves, including an introduction of general relativity, astrophysics of gravitational wave sources, analysis of gravitational wave data, and gravitational wave detector instrumentation. Students will be exposed to some of the world's leading experts in these fields who will present a series of lectures.
The school is open to students from around the world. A limited number of scholarships for travel/lodging are available for foreigner students.
