The Turkish Summer Session will be organised as usually in Turkey with the partnership of Istanbul Bilgi University. The group will be composed of about 40 participants from Turkey and from European Union.

The working language will be English.

Accommodation for students is in shared room in the dormitory of Bilgi University.

Candidates are generally graduate students, but we also consider applications from students in their second and third year university studies and young professionals after examination of the registration form.

The proposed program, together with conferences and tourist activities, give the opportunity to discover the reality of Turkey.

Fees, as detailed in the registration form available from our institution, include:

- Registration Fees (Administration fees AND enrollment fees)
- Study Fees
- Living expenses (accommodation during all the session)

A limited number of grants is available. The registration becomes final only after the integral payment of the expenses (with our without grant).

The theme of this Summer University will be “The EU-Turkey Relations: The Lisbon Treaty and beyond”

First Week
- EU History: How integration came about, factors and actors
- Transformation processes in accession countries
- State, Society and Culture in Turkey
- EU economic, social and sustainability affairs
- The origins of EU-Turkey relations

Second Week
- Westernisation in Turkish Politics
- Political System of the EU after the Lisbon Treaty
- Turkey and Democracy
- Human Rights in Turkey
- EU-Turkey: Topic Political Issues
- Civil-military Relations in Turkey
- Diversity and Citizenship in Turkey

Third Week
- Europe in the long run: Where do we go?
- Istanbul as an Urban Landscape: Historical, Cultural and Political Aspects
- Turkish Foreign Policy– towards Middle East and Asia etc.
Working groups, discussions, simulation and excursions and cultural visits also constitute a part of the summer school.
