This Bachelor-level Program of the International Summer University WU in Vienna consists of intensive courses, held by WU university staff, and enrichment courses, held by renowned, international guest lecturers. rnrnThe course description: The course aims at providing an introduction into the concept of sustainability, a breaking down of this concept into the regional scale and a translation of it into the business world.

The students will not only learn the theoretical background and the scientific models of sustainability, but will work practically to experience "hands-on" what the concept and theory may mean in the context of a business environment.rnIn short, we want to make the rather vague and fuzzy concept of sustainability tangible and operational in the real world.

Target group
General requirements are a minimum university standing of two years for undergraduates.

Course aim
Understanding the concept of sustainability/ sustainable development

Understanding the various models of sustainability as developed in natural science as well as ecological economics

Application of these models on the regional scale

Case study on sustainability in the regional business context

Credits
7.5 ECTS credits

Students will attend one Intensive Course (in this case, Sustainability-driven Enterprises) and one Enrichment Course (either Company Practices and Trends in Ethical Management or International Entrepreneurship) and gain a total of 7.5 ECTS.

Course fee
EUR 800: Full tuition: 800 EUR OR reduced tuition: 400 EUR which applies to students who attend a WU partner university school.

EUR 1190: In addition to the tuition fee, a program fee is also required. The following services are offered to all participants:



- Enriching classes with an international perspective

- Opportunities for intercultural exchange through the social and cultural program

- Breakfast and lunch (Monday through Friday on lecture days)

- Accommodation in the students residence hall -Internet access on campus and in residence halls
