This course provides the students with basic knowledge of urban planning, and gives an introduction to sustainable actions that can be implemented when planning a new urban area. Throughout the course the students will be introduced to ways of analyzing and planning an area from the beginning. The students will acquire the ability to identify different topics that have an impact on urban planning.

Course aim
Teaching methods and study activities. The students work in groups. In them, they will receive lessons and supervision. An assignment is given, which is based on a specific area in Horsens. The area will be visited for registration andanalysis. In the end, each group will present their holistic solution in a master plan of the area. Additional information: There are 40 lessons with a teacher/professor. It is mandatory to participate in each lesson and to complete thehomework. In case of illness, we need documentation from a doctor and only one day off will be accepted.

EvaluationIn order to pass the course, the student is expected to complete and pass the obligatory activities given by theteacher within the set deadlines. The student can choose either to be graded according to the Danish gradingstandards or to receive a pass/fail grade.Grading criteria Mark 12: Awarded to students who have shown excellent comprehension of the competences mentioned above. Afew minor errors and shortfalls are acceptable. Mark 02: Awarded to students for barely an acceptable level ofcomprehension of the required competences.

- students with a permanent residence permit in Denmark
- students with temporary residence permit with a view to/ possibility of permanent residence in Denmark

Tuition fee is 600 per course.Note: Books, course materials, social programme, and housing are not included in the tuition fee.
EUR 100: Participation feeFree movers are obliged to pay participation fee for the courses they attend. Likewise, students who cannot include the courses in their study programme must pay participation fee. Participation fee is 100 per course.
