Swiss universities, including the University of Geneva, are part of the world class in mathematics. The excellence of main Russian institutions and researchers in this field is also well-known.In its role as Leading House for Swiss-Russian Science & Technology Collaboration, UNIGE promotes collaboration between Swiss and Russian institutions.

Thus, mathematics is a natural choice for the first Swiss-Russian Summer School supported by the Leading House. The precise topics of this summer school are still being defined. A preliminary selection includes an Introduction to Stochastic Loewner Evolution, Tropical Geometry and Applications, Dynamical Systems, Amenability in Group Theory, Inequalities, Eigenvalues and Planar networks, Hilbert Schemes and Heisenberg Groups.
