Many formats in the field of art mediation claim to be dialogical in approach. Dialog became a buzzword in the art world, but is still met with skepticism by many museum visitors today. What are the aims and benefits of a dialogical practice? Can it fulfill the demands of educational enlightenment? Can it overcome the widespread attitude of passive consumerism?
The course offers participants a structured analysis to reflect on one's own dialogical attitude as well as numerous opportunities to practice productively within the exhibition context.Contents:
- Basic principles of Socratic dialog
- Methods to promote individual perception
- Making content-based knowledge comprehensible
- Object-orientated dialog: Questioning a work of Art
- Stimulating questions for the visitor

- Practical approach with hands-on exercises

- 12 participants per course, ensuring optimum interaction and discussion
