In this three-week programme students will explore the fundamental issues that are shaping the development and evolution of cities in the 21st century. Amsterdam is one of Europe's most vibrant and attractive metropolitan centers, providing a fascinating laboratory for the exploration and examination of urban issues. Students will audit the exciting RC43 Conference: 'At home in the housing market' during the first week of the programme. The conference is hosted by the Centre for Urban Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Target group
The course is suitable for both advanced undergraduate students and introductory level graduate students.

Course aim
The course will examine subjects such as architecture and neighborhood design, housing finance and policy, city planning and sustainability.

Credits
6.0 ECTS credits



Course fee
EUR 1650: This includes lunches on all class days, excursions, and reading materials for class. Additionally, students receive a transcript from the University of Amsterdam.

EUR 450: This is the expected price for hoousing. The Summer Programmes Office mediates housing for students. Students in the same programme are placed in the same building or as close to each other as possible. More information regarding housing will be given closer to the start of the programme to admitted students.
