Company case 2
Nestle : singled out again and again
1.Was and is Nestle’s and the other IFM members’ marketing of infant formula “unethical and immoral”?
Nestle is a company that products nutriment for infant children. Henri Nestle, did not say that his product should replace the natural breastfeeding ,he knows from the very beginning that nothing can replace the breastmilk. The company does show the instructions for use for their product so it cannot be said that its formula is “unethical and immoral”. Furthermore, Nestle is a company ,like any other one, that tries to sell the company product as better as it can be. Any products needs marketing and advertising in order to be sold, do does the Nestle items.
2. Is in the case that ethical standards should be the responsibility of organizations such as WHO and UNESCO , and that the sole responsibility of firms is to work within the bounds set?
Ethical standards should be found in any kind of company and it should be the responsibility of each company. Nevertheless , organizations as WHO and UNESCO took an engagement to the society about their health, and even if this types of organizations can set some bounds, they cannot be put in practice before of the national government. In my opinion , in this case ,the ethical standards should be put by every company , inclusive Nestle in order to become a long –term company and also have the sustainability that it needs.
