The Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice, founded in 1937, is the only state university specializing in Economics and Business studies in the region and one of the top universities in the country. Drawing from our long experience in enhancing the students'' development in the intellectual and professional sense, we have created modern, interactive programmes designed to provide students with the skills essential to built their professional careers in the multicultural environment.
International relations is one of the most prioritised and dynamic activities of the University. Adding a truly global perspective to our academic programmes has become one of our major achievements. The University cooperates successfully with higher education institutions, enterprises and chambers of commerce in the European Union, Eastern Europe and non-European countries on the basis of over 200 agreements. We have developed a successful teacher and student exchange. We are also providing our students with a unique opportunity to extend their practical knowledge, acquire intercultural skills and gain professional experience during internships in companies across Europe.
The University is an active member of numerous international networks such as EAIE, EUCEN, EUA, NAFSA, and, as the only higher education institution in Poland, in Prime Networking and EURASHE. This cooperation includes extensive academic research, teaching programmes, conferences and seminars on current business topics. Moreover, the University introduces joint degree programmes, mobility schemes and research projects in different fields.
Our university is perceived as a distinguished research and education centre with a valuable input to the economic life of the region as well as an important partner in the international arena. The basis for the academic collaboration comprises both long cooperation with numerous European institutions and innovative actions aimed at supporting dynamic activities of economic, social and educational nature. Our professors play a significant role in regional and national development by participating in the restructuring processes, providing expertise, conducting related research and cooperating with regional authorities and industry. Our students are prepared to successfully manage an increasingly international marketplace and join the highly-qualified staff dynamically sought after by the most important players in the job market. They are provided with the courses integrating the practical and theoretical aspects of business and marvellous opportunities for international internships enabling them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to act in the global environment.
