Prince Sultan University (PSU) is an institution dedicated to lifelong learning opportunities for a diverse population of adult learners in Saudi Arabia. The acquisition of practical knowledge and applicable skills will greatly enhance their opportunities for career advancement in their chosen fields. Prince Sultan University was established to provide graduate level education to individuals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who want to achieve career education goals.
In developing and implementing the present curriculum, Prince Sultan University has recognized the following:
* The curriculum should be designed to fit the needs of the students and is being reviewed frequently and updated as necessary to remain with emerging practices.
* A primary focus of the University is to respond to the needs of the students and to ensure that the students have the best opportunity to learn the skills they need to succeed in their chosen fields.
* Another Primary focus of the University will be to maintain a very good relationship between the student and the faculty staff members.
Admission Procedure
1. The student has to sit the aptitude exam conducted by the National Center for Assessment in Higher Education. (This exam is required for graduates of regular (Arabic-Speaking) Saudi high schools). For more information about this exam, please visit www.qiyas.org
2. The student then needs to contact the Admission and Registration Center accompanying all the required documents before the day of the Subjects-test that will be conducted in the University.
3. The student needs to fill the application-for-admission form and return it to the Admission and Registration Center.
4. The student has to pay the application fee (SR 500) at the student’s accounting office. (The application fee is non-refundable).
5. The student has to attend the Subjects-test in the date and time specified by the Admission and Registration Center.
Required Documents
Students wishing to join Prince Sultan Private University should submit the following documents :
1. One copy of the original general secondary school certificate.
2. One copy of the National identification document.
3. A good conduct certificate issued by the school from which the applicant has graduated.
4. Four (4) recent 4x6 cm photographs.
5. An official document from the workplace granting permission for the applicant to study at PSU. (Only in cases where the applicant is in employment).
Admission Criteria & Requirements
A student wishing to study for a B.Sc. degree in any of the majors offered by Prince Sultan University should satisfy the following conditions:
1. He should hold a general Saudi secondary school (high school) certificate (natural sciences, or social and administrative sciences). Those students who have their high school diplomas from administration major can join the Finance, Marketing and Accounting department only.
2. He should pass the University admission tests, which is given at the beginning of each semester.
3. He should be a full-time student; part-time enrolment is not permitted.
4. He should have a record of good conduct.
5. If an applicant is public or private sector employee, he should obtain written approval to study from his workplace.
6. He should satisfy other conditions stipulated by the board of PSU and announced at the time of application.
7. To pass the medical check-up.
8. The student should have earned his high school diploma within the past three years.
The academic aptitude of applicants is based on their secondary school average and on the results of the admission tests.
Transfer Criteria
Students can be admitted at PSU as Transfer Students based on the following criteria:
1. Student must be currently enrolled at a university that is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Riyadh.
2. Student’s cumulative GPA must be not less than 2.75 out of 4.0, only courses with (B) grade or better can be transferred.
The Academic Transfer committee will decide the courses that can be transferred based on the concerned department’s evaluation of the course contents. The decision must be approved by the college council.
Required Documents
1. Official Saudi Arabian High School Diploma, or an equivalent high school diploma. (High school diplomas issued outside Saudi Arabia, must be accredited by the Ministry of Education in Riyadh).
2. Official Transcript from the student’s current university.
3. Official and detailed course- description of the courses taken by the student.
