By means of its proposed programs, the National University of Arts offers the possibility of assimilating the specific language of visual arts through a constant study of natural and cultural models.

The University of Arts is the safe-keeper of traditional tools which can assist the contemporary artists in expressing themselves by linking the elements belonging to universal traditional art to individual structure and sensitivity as well as to the contemporary choice in tastes.

Both the general curriculum (at the level of individual chairs) and the syllabus of each artist-professor agree on the idea of a perpetually renewed interest in the concept itself of painting, printing/etching, sculpture and so on, pondering between the rigorous historical and academic definition and the opening towards revitalization and continuous redefinition, as compared to the dynamics and phenomenology of contemporary art. By alternating the study as an immanent experience of understanding and thoroughly using means of expression, and the experiment as a means of self-reflection, in search of one''s own personality, the National University of Arts opens the doors towards a complex inter- and multi-disciplinary artistic awakening and development.

The wide range of topics studied at the National University of Arts - including both fundamental and complementary subjects - are following the imperative of the specific language, starting from the assumption that the purpose of the study is to find unique forms of expression. At the same time, the students are offered the chance of studying alternative languages, owing to the inclusion of specific photography and film courses.

The National University of Arts proposes, with the help of its students, a cultural model which can link universal art forms to the contemporary cultural space.

The National University of Arts offers the chance of graduating with a Bachelor degree in the existing sections for the specialties of painting, sculpture, printing/etching, photography-video and image digital processing, the pedagogy of arts, mural art, design, ceramics-glass-metalwork, set decoration, textile arts - fashion, the history and theory of art, art conservation and restoring. The National University of Arts promotes cooperation and inter-university exchanges with any university in Europe and in the world.

The specificity of the artistic training offered by the National University of Arts lies in promoting flexible thinking, in the constant, manifold updating of its subjects to the contemporary agenda, in avoiding conformist, dogmatic thinking.
